Nine artists, as the outlaws of the contemporary film and art industry, are going against the subordinate of commercialism and vacuous antiestablishment movement, and reveal the world through the "Lo-Vi".
Description
“Lo-Vi”, a made-up word imitating “Lo-Fi” (an antonym to “Hi-Fi”), is a method or an attitude to face the world using moving imagery.
We are against 20th century’s snobbism = optimism, where the world depends on technological developments, such as Hi-Vision, 3D, and the digitalization; people are indulgencing in superflat, micro-pop, and otaku culture.
“Lo-Vi” brings you back to the origins of how video should exist, and look at the world strictly from the horizon of when it’s first born.
Having say that, “Lo-Vi” is not a simple anti-technology creed or anti-frivolous fad. "Lo-Vi" is a form of art that reveals the reality of our society, by separating the world and reconnecting it again by using video’s special characteristics that’s different from any other types of art.
9 Artists gather here, as the outlaws of the contemporary film and art industry, going against the commercialism and vacuous antiestablishment movement, and reveal the world through the "Lo-Vi".
